The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department and the Recreation Advisory Board have extended an invitation to the community regarding the official opening of the Holding Park Aquatic Center. We have been waiting a long time for this but it is finally here and it was worth the wait. What a beautiful facility!
The aquatic center is located at 133 W. Owen Ave. which is nearby the brand new town homes being constructed at the Franklin Street Townes community (at the corner of the 98 bypass and S Franklin St).
This Saturday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. The town is celebrating this special occasion by offering free admission to the facility from 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
The opening festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with brief remarks by Mayor Vivian Jones and free hotdogs! What a great way to celebrate.
The Town of Wake Forest recently completed work on the brand new $3.2 million aquatic center. The new facility consists of 3 pools: a 6 lane lap pool, 2 water slides, and a children’s pool with spray-ground.
The aquatic center will also be open free to the public Sunday, Sept. 23, from 1-7:30 pm.
